Argentine wonderkid Franco Mastantuono is set to spend the next season in Serie A after Real Madrid reached an agreement with Fiorentina over a loan move for the highly rated midfielder.
The deal was finalised on Wednesday morning, with all parties agreeing to the temporary switch that will see Mastantuono continue his development in Italy ahead of a planned return to the Santiago Bernabéu in June 2027.
The 18-year-old, regarded as one of Argentina’s brightest young talents, joined Real Madrid with high expectations after emerging as a standout prospect in South American football. However, with fierce competition for places in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, the Spanish giants have opted to send the midfielder out on loan to secure regular first-team football.
Fiorentina moved quickly to secure the youngster’s signature, viewing him as a key addition to their squad ahead of the new Serie A campaign. The Florence-based club has built a reputation for nurturing young talent, making the move an attractive opportunity for Mastantuono to gain valuable experience in one of Europe’s top leagues.
The agreement does not include a permanent transfer, with Real Madrid retaining full control over the player’s future. Mastantuono is expected to return to the Spanish club in June 2027 after completing his loan spell.
